ATTORNEY

M. Scott Minyard

M. Scott Minyard, a native of Mississippi, joined Lee, Futrell & Perles in 2012 and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi College School of Law in 1995, where he served as Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review. Over the past twenty years, Mr. Minyard has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to defending corporate clients in a wide array of occupational disease cases in which thousands of plaintiffs have claimed injury as a result of exposure to various agents, including asbestos, silica, and welding fumes, primarily at shipyards, chemical plants, and refineries. Mr. Minyard has represented such clients in state and federal courts, both at the trial and appellate level, in Louisiana and in other states.

Mr. Minyard has significant experience in the defense of insurance agents in E&O claims arising from an alleged failure to procure adequate coverage, and in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, tried several such cases to verdict on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Minyard has also litigated franchise disputes on behalf of franchisors and franchisees of convenience stores, gas stations, and after-market automobile supply companies.

Mr. Minyard has represented manufacturers and retailers in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, and defended a manufacturer of dietary supplements in multi-district litigation involving thousands of plaintiffs. He has also defended insureds in a broad spectrum of other personal injury actions, such as automobile accidents and slip and fall cases.
