Gary A. Lee

Gary A. Lee is a founding member of Lee, Futrell & Perles and is licensed in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and Texas. For over twenty years, Mr. Lee has defended numerous occupational disease suits brought by shipyard, foundry, construction, and other industrial workers, as well as premises liability claims against Avondale Shipyards. He has authored coverage opinions in the occupational disease field, and he briefed and successfully argued for the adoption of the exposure theory of coverage before the Louisiana Supreme Court in Cole v. Celotex Corp.

During his seventeen years with the law firm of Feris, Ellis, Coutrone & Gilmore, Mr. Lee handled a broad range of maritime cases involving hull claims, personal injury and death, cargo losses, dock damage, and collisions, including the capsizing and sinking of the heavy lift vessel HAPPY RUNNER, the allision of the M/V PANAMAX STAR with the IMT Dock, and the sinking of the Dredge EXPLORER in Hawaii. In addition, he has dealt with damages associated with the construction and operation of pipelines in coastal marshlands, and a wide range of insurance coverage disputes, including claims under Energy, Exploration and Development policies. He has authored numerous coverage opinions under CGL, P&I, Hull, excess liability, excess MEL, and Energy, Exploration and Development policies.
